Umm.. i beg to differ. The problem with our country is that not too many people really care about the blasts. Which is why they keep happening and happening and happening and nothing is done about them. It can be looked upon in two ways: a) Most Indians agree to this or believe to be the reason and propagate this, but frankly I just think it is bullshit. Reason being: We have become resilient and no bomb blast can deter us. Umm, no we haven’t. And yes, it can. But as I said, we just don’t care.
b) We don’t care!!

The reason for that is manifold, but the most imp one is – India is too big a country for someone living in Mumbai to worry about what happens in Ahemadabad or vice versa. And so much bullshit keeps happening, we can’t spend our energies on thinking about it over and over again. Also, the “common man” really doesn’t matter to us.

But here’s the irony – When an Ishmeet dies, the entire country comes together to mourn. Why? because he is a celeb and his one life is more imp than the hundred lives of commoners. cuzthat’s really the thinking in every common man today. it’s crap, but that’s what it is. Everyone will “express” their grief when commoners die, but they actually feel bad when a celeb goes away. Again, it can be said it’s just that we knew that person, at least thru TV, than the common people. But it’s again cuz we can’t keep bothering.

Cuz if we DID care – there wud have been a mass movement, a mass protest, a mass rebellion against the bullshit of our system. We would have revolted and said, DO SOMETHING! We would have forced, pressurized, or done away with our govt – anything to make it stop. ANYTHING TO MAKE IT STOP. Because we CAN. How is it that they always manage to stay two steps ahead of us? I refuse to believe that in a country of 1 billion people, we don’t have 10 intelligent people who can kick some terrorist ass. But we don’t CARE!

So yeah, we can take another blow. Don’t know for how long. Maybe until we actually do start caring. Cuz after that, it’s not that we won’t be able to take a blow – we just WON’T take a blow. Let’s wait for that to happen.
